Brian Jungen

Today is art class we talking about Brian Jungen. about what his art looking like and we watched a view about one of his art projects.
The question my teacher asked me to answer is.
How is CONTEXT important to Brian Jungen's work?

I think it is important because, how his baseball court had holes in the floor and how there were sweat shops in that place. Now Brian Jungen put hole in the floor to show the people that worked there. Context I think means the shape the court was in and that background information behind it.

How is it related to appropriation?

I think it is appropriation means in Brian Jungen work is how he makes  the art. Even though it isnt a panting it is still art.

Past Final

Thoughts while making the stop motion.

I struggled with a lot of thing with making the stop motion. My first idea what I wanted to do wasn't the best, I wanted to do something with baby pictures so I did in some way. The first idea was to do a clock with baby pictures in a clock motion, but then I talked to the teacher and she helped me come up with my new idea. This idea I have done starts when I am only a kid but then it shows me till I am in grade nine, Some of the pictures aren't the best but the watcher can see most of the picture. I was so scared about making a mistake and having to redo parts and adding it into the right place. Thinking all the pictures were going to be the wrong year because I dated the pictures by year. Trying to member the months they were taken would be really hard.

Background information.

In the past about 7-8 years ago my house burnt down completely. My family lost everything we had nothing for the month after the fire. Trying to find the pictures after the fire and seeing what pictures were still in decent shape and that I could use. A lot of the pictures had some burnt marks on the picture. Even though I was young and didn't know what was fully going on I still felt impacted in a way. My parents had a lot to live with trying to get all our stuff back. Also in my past I was bullied in elementary school but when I got to high school things got better. No ones past is perfect and mine isnt for sure.

While making the stop motion.

When I was making the stop motion I had lots of help from my mom. Me and my Mom first went through all the pictures we had left. It took us about 2 days to find all the pictures we needed, While we were looking for the pictures we both were trying to estimate the year it was taken and how old I was then. After we finished all the we organized how I wanted to make the pictures more into the stop motion. I was kinda picky on how the pictures came into the camera view. I didn't want all the pictures to come in from the same spot so I made all of them from different sides on the camera.

After.

After I finished the stop motion and I watched the video and I liked what it looked like. I picked a song to place into the video. The song I picked was Chillin It by Cole Swindell. BUT I DO NOT own this song. My Mom really liked the video after I put everything together. After I finished taken all the pictures I needed there were over 400 pictures to make a 2 minute and 23 second stop motion.

Daniel Gordon gets Physical.

what is appropriation?
Daniel uses pictures he find from one place to another. Simply like cutting a pictures from the internet, and making it into something physical. like in the video he finds a blue eye and gets some kind of shadow effect to is and makes a colorful picture with the eye and other objects.

Review Daniel Gordon's work.

Daniel Gordon s work really gets my eye to look at it, all the colors in the art. The shadows that aren't just normal dark colors he uses bright patterns to make the shadow effect more eye catching. I actually really like his work. I'm not the kind of person to like a lot of peoples art but i like all the colors Daniel uses.

By what Standards did you deem it successful? yours or his?

Looking at the picture above kind of tells me he has semi high standers. I don't know what his standers were when doing this picture but I think it meets the standers I had for looking at the picture. I personally like the colors that are in the picture. It,s not to much and i find all the colors fit in with everyone of them.

How Does he explain the meaning of Photography in his work?

Daniel likes the look of 3-D pictures. He explains the way he goes about making his pictures. Starts with one picture and gets idea from that and so one. the colors he picks to use in his work does a good effect in the shadows he wants to show.

How much time is spend "in process"?

Daniel spends most of his time looking for pictures and coming up with ideas. The time he actually spends on the Project is every little doing the picture. but all the looking and searching for pictures pays off with a amazing colorful picture.
